Invasion of the Bane: Pilot episode : Sarah Jane investigates a soda factory , meets her neighbors and adopts a son Characters: Sarah Jane Smith unless you watched Doctor Who in the seventies or saw " School Reunion" Elizabeth Sladen aka Sarah Jane Smith will not seem familiar. Investagative reporter , journalist and alien hunter she's no boring old person and her travels with the Doctor has taught her that adventure is everywhere **** Luke Smith : Created by the Bane , Luke is a genius when it comes to math and science , but don't let that fool you because although Luke is smart he is essentially a baby created by the Bane to observe human brain patterns to find out why 2% wouldn't touch their drink so while Luke has the mind of 10,000 humans he has no sorely knowledge and is a blank slate adopted by Sarah Jane after destroying the Bane: Maria Jackson : Next door neighbour , Maria is feisty and does not shy from danger , she is the first one Luke meets after he is " born" she isn't scared of aliens . Clyde Manger: Though he may seem like a joker, Clyde knows when to get serious and will do anything for his friends and when something seems weird Clyde knows it in fact in " The Lost Boy" he refuses to believe that the Staffords are really Luke's parents in " The Gift" he is rightfully suspicious of the Blathareen . Rani Chandra replaced Maria in series 2 a budding journalist she gets sucked into the weirdness after seeing a alien clown and wanted answers , Rani was a good replacement and lasted three more seasons before it was prematurely cancelled . Sky Smith : Sarah Jane's adopted daughter created by fleshkind as a bomb to destroy metalkind she is diffused and later adopted by Sarah Jane who's probably been suffering empty nest syndrome since Luke left for Oxford . Ironically there are some Sky haters and think she replaced Luke and maybe in a way she did since they both seem to be the same created as weapons , innocently naive, genius children , but actually I like Sky she was sweetly adorable and naive sort of like Luke and the interaction between the two of them is quite sweet at first they are both awkward around each other and You could tell there are times when Luke seems really annoyed with Sky and there are times when Sky is the annoying younger sibling , but when push comes to shove Luke's big brother instincts kick in . This show is and was the best and I will miss it
